A Timeless Summer at Moniker
What does Summer evoke in you?
Is it dancing without the worry of your surroundings? The rhythm of high-fiving a volleyball as a wave breaks?
Is it grilling dogs with your dawgs? Sharing a pie with the apple of your eye?
Is it locking lips with the person you’ve been pining over as palms of fireworks cascade over you?
What if we said we packaged all that feeling into one place and called it A Timeless Summer at Moniker General.
A sunset soiree that encapsulated the human pillars of A Timeless Day and the love they have for America’s Finest City. A sweet hum of memory’s melody sung by the people central to our agency of experience’s evolution. Without people, you’re nothing. Without Charlie directing his compass to his seaside nostalgia, A Timeless Day wouldn’t exist. Without Ian, there would be no Volkswagen buses for us to chart the coast.
Moniker General has always acted as a nucleus for our company. We’ve spent many a day on its deck with our legal eagle Ray Khan brainstorming our future, so having his legal firm InFlow Law Group sponsor our beach club hideaway was paramount.
The surf and turf dining experience for the night was years in the making. Bica and Companion Bread are brands composed of people that feel more like family, then collaborators only after a dime. Chef Luis Contrera’s ceviche (Bica) felt like it was a piece of his soul served on tostada. Baker Sienna Walter’s pizza (Companion Bread) was made with dough stretched directly from the flour she mills herself, passion down to the grain.
The music was no different.
If that all wasn’t enough, our friends at One Fine Day, Preferences the Game, and Slim Pickings turned Moniker’s patio into a time warp of vintage fashion finds, turntable throwbacks, and family game night. The groove was in DJ Daily Vacation’s heart with every record selected and spun. Complementing the groove, Taylor Boshard’s, One Fine Day and Attagrl Vintage, curated racks of vintage gave breath to past lives, when fashion wasn’t fast and sharing style sewed stitches of togetherness.
Past lives even repurposed by vintage seller Katy Murphy, Slim Pickings, who tailored memory to her image by upcycling a forgotten embroidered cloth, from an estate sale, into an unforgettable tank top that she donned as she sold her wares. Lest we forget, Lindsey Aiello’s game Preferences conveyed to guests that the pursuit to victory is through connection. Connection best served with Jeni’s ice cream and a Moniker bar Gold Rush cocktail to wash it down.
A Timeless Summer was a herculean endeavor that could not have been possible without Matthew Lopez and the rest of the team with The Bar at Moniker General trusting our vision. Thank you to timeless teammates Raph Biello, Adrian Zavala, and Jack Cunniff for rising to the occasion to ensure this evening was certified timeless. Lastly, thank you to Raen, Vacation, Pigment, and Bather for sponsoring the dream; Carlos Alberto for supplying your VW bus; and to all that bought a ticket to support our timeless engine. To us, this only signals the beginning of what’s to come.
Forever and always, stay timeless.
